For really heavy off-road work (for bajas or baby carriages or for extremely heavy motorcycles), even the urethane suspension rubber set or additional suspension support can still refuse to cooperate and still vibrate when accelerating or shifting (even spontaneously jumping out of gear can occur). For this serious problem there is an appropriate solution:
This fixed gearbox suspension connects the gearbox directly to the chassis without rubbers. A more palpable contact with the engine cannot be achieved. The complete set is also equipped with brackets that are pulled around the gearbox and mounted on the other side on the gearbox support and anchored transversely through the wishbones at the front.
This set comes complete with all the necessary front and rear gearbox mounting hardware.
The rear suspension bracket also features additional mounting locations for such items as the torsion bar kit (#4389 and #4390).
On Beetles after August 1972, mounting of this suspension kit is not possible, please use the additional gearbox suspension mounts (#1403).
