If you have EMPI high lift valve covers, it is wise not to reuse the gaskets over and over again. The sealing of these valve covers is several times better than the original, but that doesn't mean the seals can be used over and over again.
These gaskets are fitted around the valve cover and not in the valve cover as is the case with a stock valve cover. Always keep an extra set in stock, they are not available from all VW specialists like the original.
