This Wolfsburg emblem is a special version of the well-known city crest that was closely associated with Volkswagen and the Beetle for many years. The crest shows the wolf standing on Wolfsburg castle, with the wavy lines below referring to the River Aller. The connection with Wolfsburg is obvious: Volkswagen’s main factory has been located there since the early years.
Volkswagen fitted the Wolfsburg emblem to the front luggage compartment lid of the Beetle from the early 1950s. Alongside the original Volkswagen versions, this distinctive red, white and yellow colour scheme also appeared in the 1960s as an aftermarket accessory alternative.
This special version later attracted attention again. Around the beginning of the 1990s, the Wolfsburg Museum had a one-off series of approximately 1000 pieces produced for a special occasion. This brought the historic accessory version back into the spotlight within the classic Volkswagen scene.
This reproduction brings that distinctive version back to life and is supplied complete with an aluminium mounting base. It is fitted in the original position on the front luggage compartment lid.
The protective rubber pads fitted between the aluminium mounting base and the luggage compartment lid are not included. We recommend ordering these as well to prevent damage to the paintwork. You can find them under the Options tab.
