Product description
In the mid-1980s, Volkswagen replaced the cork gasket in diesel engines with a rubber gasket that guarantees a better seal. The gasket has a metal inside to ensure that the valve cover is never overtightened.
If a cork gasket is now fitted, it is also necessary to replace the studs (included), if your engine is already fitted with a rubber gasket, you can omit it.
If you still prefer to use cork, just as the first engines were equipped with it in the factory, look under the alternative tabs.
