For most Volkswagens, both orange and clear turn signal lenses are available. The clear lenses have only been used in countries where orange is not allowed. In most European countries this is not the case and the indicator must flash orange.
This legal requirement can be circumvented by fitting an orange lamp. The lens remains clear but the indicator flashes orange. In this way, you comply with the law and still have the look you had in mind.
Orange lamps are available in both incandescent and fully LED versions.
In the LED version, the exterior is in white plexiglass and the bulb lights up orange. It's also worth mentioning that these lamps are equipped with a cooling element. This cooling element serves to dissipate the heat of the LEDs, although this is minimal compared with incandescent bulbs. Our LED bulbs have the same shape as incandescent bulbs, so they are completely enclosed, preserving as much of the original appearance as possible. LED bulbs last longer, consume considerably less energy and are several times brighter than traditional incandescent bulbs.
Note: With LED lights used for direction indicators, it's important to mention that for 6-volt systems, a special relay is required specifically for LED lights, so please order this extra. This relay is listed in the “options” tab. For 12-volt systems, we recommend using the relay we offer. If you use another type or brand of relay, it may not work with LED lights.
