If you own a Volkswagen Beetle up to 7/1960 with an unsynchronized or semi-synchronized gearbox and you wish to fit a fully synchronized gearbox of a more modern Volkswagen Beetle, you'll find that the nose of the gearbox does not fit your chassis. The solution is this adapter which, on the one hand, is mounted on the pre-1960 chassis and, on the other hand, can be fitted to a gearbox from a later year, making the choice of gearbox unlimited. A disadvantage is that you mount the gearbox directly on the chassis (without rubber), so that the vibrations of the engine will be more noticeable than before.
