Product description
Every Volkswagen was delivered from the factory with a tool kit. With the exception of the Bay Window Bus and its successor, the VW Vanagon, this lever bar or tommy bar was a standard part of the kit. The bar functioned as part of the wheel wrench, as a lever for the wheel cover puller, and for operating the jack.
Many Volkswagens no longer have the complete tool kit (see the alternatives tab), or parts such as the jack, wheel remover and spark plug wrench are still present, but the corresponding lever rod is missing.
Make sure you always have the most necessary tools on board - this lever rod should not be missing.
Note: The years of manufacture mentioned refer to the period when the lever rod was also used to operate the original Volkswagen jack. After the jack was replaced by a lifting mechanism, this function disappeared and the rod was only used as part of the wheel wrench and wheel puller in a shorter version.....
