The play on the steering column is often caused by a worn steering column bearing. This specific ball bearing is located on the Bay Window Bus at the top of the steering column, while on the VW Vanagon it is located at the bottom of the steering column.
The bearing is ready for assembly, it has already been equipped with the right ball bearing grease at the factory
Tip: Simultaneously check all steering column parts for wear and replace them while the steering column is removed.
