With the switch from Split Bus (T1) to the Bay Window Bus (T2), the loading doors have been replaced by a sliding door to facilitate loading and unloading.
A metal cover was mounted on the sliding part to remove it from view. As it is possible to have sliding doors on the left and right, you can see this cover on both sides, even if there is no sliding door.
To avoid rust, there is a black rubber seal or beading between this cover and the bodywork which is tightened around the cover and connected to the bodywork.
