Product description
The tailgates of the VW Vanagon are hinged on pins secured by circlips. If the circlip is missing, the pin will sooner or later slip out.
Volkswagen used clamping rings for axle diameters of 12 mm until the 1987 model year. Thereafter, the clamping ring was adjusted to 11 mm, with the exception of Syncro models, which used an 11 mm clamping ring from the start of production.
The 11 mm version was also used to secure the master cylinder pushrod on the Beetle and Karmann Ghia from 1958 to 1964, but only on right-hand-drive vehicles.
Seeger rings must be opened using Seeger ring pliers. Once pushed onto the axle, they fall into a notch. When the pliers are released, they clamp firmly into the notch.
