Product description
A difficult gear change can result from a worn gearbox, but the cause can also be simpler; the connection between the gearshift rod and the gearbox can be worn.
The gear shift bar of the VW Beetle, Karman Ghia, VW Type 3 and VW Thing is easily accessible by removing the plate above the chassis number under the rear seat, with the VW Bus you have to crawl under the car to access it.
In order to be able to absorb vibrations, a part of the coupling is vulcanized in rubber. Due to dehydration, the play develops over time, which can make it difficult, if not impossible, to change gears.
The gearshift bar of the Volkswagen Bus consists of several parts, it is the rear connection that connects the gearshift bar to the gearbox and a central connection that connects the two largest gearshift bars to each other. The latter is a fixed connection part, therefore without vulcanized parts.
A special bolt that is only supplied with connection #01406 is used for assembly, for other connections you must order separately (see options tab).
