Safety belt attachment points are subject to specific safety requirements. These requirements also apply to seatbelt fastening hardware. Since the 1960s, these requirements have been standardized, and seatbelt mounting bolts must feature an American UNF thread. This thread is also present in the bodywork and is specifically designed for seatbelt mounting.
If your Volkswagen is not equipped with mounting points for seat belts, or if you wish to install seat belts in places where there was no possibility of doing so in the past, please contact us. there were no factory-fitted mounting points, such as on certain bus models which initially had only mounting points in the passenger compartment, you can use loose nuts (see "Alternatives" tab). A better solution, however, is to weld the nuts on, as Volkswagen has done on later versions.
Apart from the fact that the nuts need to be mounted in a solid, suitable location, this also applies to the nuts themselves. The nuts listed here meet the correct specifications for safe seatbelt fitting.
