Almost all factory motorhomes are equipped as standard with a sofa bed that can be unfolded in the blink of an eye. This makes it possible to create a spacious bed by extending the bench seat over the engine compartment.

In addition to factory motorhomes, many buses have been converted into motorhomes in the past. Many VW enthusiasts are still working on these conversions today. It's not just touring buses that are being converted, but also more and more closed vans.

Even if you're very handy, building a sleeper van yourself is a step too far for many. If you're sufficiently handy, all you need to do is buy individual sofa bed hinges. However, if you want a complete base rather than just hinges, this complete sofa bed frame is a good choice.

This sofa bed frame is adjustable in width from 100 to 150 cm, and is therefore suitable for most rear-mounted Volkswagen buses.

Folding is quick and easy: you lift the seat slightly, then pull the bench forward, with the backrest hinging to form a flat unit. Next, unfold the bed supports (which are mounted on the bench seat) and let them rest on the edge of the lower frame. Your bed is now ready for use.

Note: only a base frame is supplied, use MDF to make the seat and back. The frame has a gray powder-coated finish and includes all mounting brackets, brackets and mounting hardware (mounting hardware for mounting the frame in the bus is not included).

Suitable for all types of Volkswagen Buses. However, on the VW Vanagon, the engine compartment must be raised by 12 cm to be flush with the frame.

Important note: this is a simple and economical way of creating a sofa bed. However, please bear in mind that, despite the manual, some technical knowledge and understanding is required. If you do not have this knowledge, we recommend that you do not assemble the sofa bed yourself, but have it done by a qualified person.
