Product description
On the Volkswagen Bay Window Bus and Vanagon, these rubber-filled bushes or silentblocks are located in the rear axle support arms or wishbones. On the Bay Window Bus, there is one per wishbone, and on the Vanagon, there are two per wishbone.
Worn rubber bushes in the suspension arms often cause annoying vibrations that cannot be eliminated by adjusting the wheel alignment or balancing. Every aging VW Bus will suffer from this sooner or later, as a result of drying out and high mileage.
These bushings have to be pressed into the wishbones, which is why the use of a hydraulic press is recommended, and in many cases cannot be fitted in any other way.
Note: Only use glycerine (mentioned in the "options" tab) as a lubricant, as other agents can corrode the rubber, kicking the aging process into high gear.
