There may be several reasons to replace a windows, the window is broken, you prefer a laminated windscreen rather than a tempered glass, the heating of the rear window no longer works or the windows are too strongly scratched.
In addition to clear glass, some windows are also available tinted. If two shades are not used, as is the case with a sunscreen strip, all the windows of each Volkswagen model are of the same shade and are therefore no different from each other.
All windscreens are made of safety glass (laminated glass), so also for cars from a time when laminated glass did not yet exist. You can easily replace a hardened windshield with a laminated one, for safety reasons, this is certainly to be considered, even if it differs from the original.
Attention! The heated rear windows must be protected by a fuse more powerful than the original, 20 amperes instead of 8 amperes. The original wiring (1.5 m²) can support 24 amps, so it is quite strong enough.
