Product description
This bearing cover is located behind the brake drum (in which the wheel bearing is enclosed) and should be flat and undamaged. If this is not the case you will have to replace it. I can already hear you thinking "but then why chrome?...it's behind your drum, a place where no one can see it?". True, but if you are going to mount disc brakes on the rear the cover will be visible and then a nice neat look is nice. Also, a chrome layer is more resistant to corrosion than untreated steel like original. Also look at the related parts, if you are going to replace the cover you will also need new O-rings or a new bearing.
Note : only applicable if your rear axle is equipped with intermediate shafts (IRS, independent rear wheel suspension), here there are homokinets on both the wheel and gearbox side (which is not the case with the swing axle system).
