Product description
On Type 4 engines, the pushrod tubes can be removed without having to disassemble the cylinder head to do so, which is the case with all other boxer engines in the Volkswagen line.
After removing the retaining spring and rocker arms, the tubes can be removed from the side of the cylinder head.
With this system, there is no residue that causes the pushrod tubes to get stuck between the cylinder head and the crankcase. This is provided by this steel spring that rests on the pushrod tubes and locks into the notches of the rocker shafts.
The spring steel loses its tension over time, so it is advisable to replace it at the same time as the pushrods.
