Product description
On Type 4 engines, the pulley is attached to the hub by a single self-locking mounting bolt.
Looking at the VW number, you would think that this is a standard bolt, but it certainly is not. Only use this bolt, which meets the requirements prescribed by Volkswagen!
It has an enlarged pressure portion that has locking teeth. If the retaining teeth of your old bolt are still in good condition, you can reuse it.
If you want to be safe, install a new pulley bolt. You don't want to think about the pulley spontaneously coming off at 100 mph.
