Product description
Register carburetor sets
The Weber DFEV 32/36 and EMPI EPC 32/36F are two-stage (register) carburetors, which offer major advantages over the original. Up to half the throttle, you drive very economically on a small 32 mm carburetor, from half to full throttle, the second stage opens and you have two venturis, the 32 and the 36 mm together. Due to the better filling, the second stage provides much more power.
The carburetor set for the Type 1 engine is only suitable for 1300 and 1600 cc dual intake engines, the intake elbows must be reused. Please note that only the intake elbows of a 1600 cc engine are mounted on the manifold, if you don't have them in your possession, order them in addition (see options tab). The intake manifold supplied must be able to move freely between the intake elbows, if this is not the case, cut the intake manifold to the correct length. If the central intake tube is jammed between them, the intake elbows will not seal on the cylinder head. In addition, care must be taken to ensure that the electric choke cannot touch the fan shroud and cause a short circuit, use tape against the fan shroud to prevent this. Also make sure that the carburetor is properly grounded by mounting the bracket as described.
For type 4 engines, the side carburetors are replaced by this 32/36 two-stage carburetor, which allows more economical driving without loss of engine power.
It is recommended to fit a 009 or 123 valve, this is the only way to reach the maximum that the carburetor can offer. As with all carburetors, and certainly with carburetors that have never been fitted in series, it all revolves around the correct arrangement and adjustment of the jets. If you don't have the right knowledge, have your engine tuned on a power bench, you are then assured of a package that works perfectly with the advantages you wanted to obtain.
The sets are available with a Weber DFEV 32/36 or EMPI EPC 32/36F carburetor. Weber has already amply proven its quality, there is no doubt about that. The EMPI EPC 32/36E is a copy of the Weber and has become increasingly popular in recent years. Not only because of the lower price but also several independent tests have proven that EMPI is not inferior to Weber, HPMX carburetors are even better tested than Weber's original. The only thing that cannot yet be tested is the service life, which is undoubtedly fixed at Weber, and which we will not know for several years at EMPI.
