As an option, the VW dealer could install retractable side windows instead of the fixed rear side windows. By pulling a lever, the rear side windows could now be opened a few centimeters. This option was particularly popular in warmer regions.
All necessary rubbers and most spare parts are still available in new condition. Around the pop-out windows, there is a reinforcing edge. This edge is pressed onto the glass with a rubber between the edge and the glass to prevent damage and vibration.
