Product description
Originality is a priority for many classic car owners. If there is a possibility of keeping the original, this is often the preference of many collectors. If a wheel brake cylinder or master cylinder needs replacing, you can buy a completely new one, but you might also consider overhauling it, which will at least preserve the original exterior.
Not all overhaul kits replace all parts, but at least all rubber parts, i.e. the most important parts likely to cause leaks.
If several brands are mentioned in the commentary, the kit is largely applicable, so you'll have some parts left over. If no brand is mentioned, the kit applies to all brands
Remember that all kits are based on the factory-fitted brake cylinder. If the brake cylinder has already been replaced for the same brand, the manufacturer may have overhauled the internal components over the years, and the parts in the set may not match those of the first assembly. We recommend that you first disassemble your brake cylinder and compare it with the photo before ordering, this also applies if there are multiple sets available for the same brake cylinder.
Caution: many people use brake fluid to gently take up the slack, which is no good, as brake fluid is very aggressive and has no lubricating effect. Only use assembly paste for this purpose! This not only ensures smooth assembly, but also long-term preservation. With brake fluid, the opposite is true. Use assembly paste on pistons, cylinder interior and all rubber parts. Take this as well (see 'Options' tab).
