Product description
This main shaft bearing reinforcement plate is mounted between the gear part and the gearbox shift housing and ensures that the main shaft bearing stays in place in all conditions.
It also helps with the alignment of the gears, they now make full contact, the chance of any problems with this is reduced. For the Beetle and Karmann Ghia, with this plate it is also possible to use a 2-bolt gearbox on a gearbox with a 3-bolt gearbox which is often applied when converting.
Installation tip
If a reversing light switch is fitted, we recommend sanding the gear housing to 1 mm (use sandpaper on a glass plate to sand the surface). It is possible that, due to the intervention of the reinforcement plate, the reverse light switch is not sufficiently depressed. By flattening the surface by 1 mm, you avoid this risk.
