For a Cal-look or custom Volkswagen Beetle, there are many special parts that will allow you to give your Volkswagen its own identity.
These polished stainless steel running boards can help. They have a smooth finish and you can choose between models with louvers (often found on custom vehicles) or completely smooth (often used in the Cal-look scene).
It is recommended that stainless steel parts be thoroughly cleaned with a stainless steel cleaner immediately after assembly. In every shop, metal particles swirl around (created by grinding and sanding, for example). If these particles get on the stainless steel, they can cause rust. It is not the stainless steel that rusts, but the iron particles swirling around it that cause it. Also, stainless steel is not chlorine resistant and can cause a rust reaction if it comes in contact with the flowers of certain trees or shrubs. Use stainless steel cleaner to clean and apply a protective coating to stainless steel (see 'Options' tab).
