This intake air temperature sensor is only suitable for Mexican 1600cc fuel-injected engines and is located above the throttle valve in the throttle body.
The sensor measures the temperature of the intake air and transmits this information to the electronic control unit. Using this data, the control unit can determine, among other things, the engine’s current load condition and adjust the engine management accordingly.
The temperature is measured using a so-called NTC resistor. NTC stands for Negative Temperature Coefficient. This means that the electrical resistance decreases as the temperature rises. The resistance value corresponding to the measured temperature is transmitted to the control unit as a voltage signal.
