Damaged suction hoses and fittings can cause the engine to malfunction, which can even cause serious damage.
Wear cannot be stopped, this is one of the problems of older engines. Therefore, at every service, check the condition of the hoses and connections by loosening and compressing them, replace the connection or hose if hairline cracks are visible.
