If your Volkswagen is equipped with a fuel tap and therefore has no fuel gauge, switching to the reserve position can be quite a challenge. The operating lever is located deep under the dashboard, making it difficult and for many even impossible to operate while driving.
Volkswagen quickly recognized this problem and developed a special accessory for it. With an extension, the fuel tap lever was moved further forward so it could easily be operated from the driver’s seat.
With the reproduction offered here, you benefit from a fuel tap lever based on the original Volkswagen design, which is much easier to reach thanks to an extension of approximately 40 cm.
If the ivory-colored control knob does not match the other knobs on your dashboard, you may consider replacing it with a knob in a different color. These are listed under the options tab and can be ordered separately.
To avoid having to switch to the reserve while driving, it is recommended to install a trip counter on your dashboard, just as many Volkswagen drivers did at the time. Authentic trip counters can be found under the related products tab.
