The front axle bump stops are held in place with clips. These clips are made of spring steel and clamp the bump stop firmly under tension.
Corrosion can reduce the spring tension of the clips, which may cause the bump stop to come loose. Therefore, regularly check not only the rubber stops themselves, but also the clips for rust and deterioration. In practice, you will probably only read this text after you have already lost a bump stop, but at least you will know that periodic inspection is definitely worthwhile.
One clip is required per bump stop. For all four bump stops, four clips are therefore required.
