Product description
We must prevent the heat generated by the exhaust system from being drawn in by the cooling fan. The engine is not intended to be cooled with warm air, which is why every effort is made to prevent this.
To block the heat from the exhaust, the heat shield listed here is mounted to the engine tinware. If this shield is missing, the engine temperature will rise higher than desired and you risk overheating, with all the consequences that entails.
This version is manufactured from 1 mm single-sided untreated steel and still requires a protective paint coating to protect it against the elements.
Would you prefer a heat shield that, just like the original, is fitted with insulation material between the spot-welded panels, offering even better heat protection, and finished with a durable powder coating for direct installation? Then choose the A-quality version, available under the “alternatives” tab.
