Product description
The very first Volkswagen Beetles and T2 Split Buses were fitted with door centering rubbers. These rubbers guide the door correctly towards the lock when closing and also help keep the door securely in place while driving.
Volkswagen later improved the design, making these door centering rubbers unnecessary on the Beetle Sedan and VW Bus. However, they continued to be used on the Beetle Convertible until the end of production. On the Karmann Ghia, the door centering rubbers were introduced from model year 1960 and also remained in use until the end of production.
On the later Beetle Convertible and Karmann Ghia models for which these rubbers are intended, the rubber is not mounted directly into the body. It is fitted into a chrome-plated housing to prevent damage to the paintwork when the door is closed.
The corresponding chrome-plated housings and mounting screws can be found under the Options tab. Order these separately if required.
