Product description
Many people think that a leaking valve cover is caused only by a worn gasket. However, the retaining bail may also be the cause. When it loses its spring tension, the valve cover is no longer pressed down firmly enough, which can result in an oil leak.
Should you discover this problem while on the road, you can carefully bend the retaining bail as a temporary solution. Replace it as soon as possible once you are home. Once a retaining bail has lost its clamping pressure, bending it back will not provide a permanent solution.
Do you have aluminium valve covers and need to replace the retaining bails? Use these specific retaining bails. They are designed for the increased height of the aluminium valve covers and therefore differ from the original version.
Please note: Order new valve cover gaskets as well. They are not reusable. You can find the correct gaskets under the ‘Options’ tab.
