Product description
This bearing cover is located behind the brake drum, in which the wheel bearing is enclosed, and it must be completely flat and free from damage. If this is not the case, it should be replaced.
You may be wondering: “Why chrome plated? It sits behind the brake drum where nobody can see it.” That is true, but once rear disc brakes are installed, the cover becomes visible. In that case, a chrome plated version provides a much cleaner and more attractive appearance. In addition, a chrome finish offers better corrosion resistance than the untreated steel used for the original covers.
Also check the related parts section. When replacing the cover, it is recommended to replace the O-rings or even the bearing at the same time. Don’t forget to order the special bolts as well if your old ones have become unusable due to excessive rust. These can be found under the “options” tab.
Attention: Only suitable for rear axles with drive shafts (IRS, independent rear suspension). These have CV joints on both the wheel side and the gearbox side, unlike a swing axle system.
