Since 1966, Westfalia has been modernizing the way cabinet doors and drawers are closed from a brass rotary lock to a plastic pressure lock.
The locking mechanism was mounted out of sight inside the cabinet door or drawer. For older Westfalia Buses, it is a metal lock with a pressure rod which is then replaced by a plastic lock whose pressure rod has become part of the handle.
