Product description
Each motor is equipped with a crankcase ventilation, during operation of the motor gases develop which must be evacuated.
Initially, the gases released were blown directly into the ambient air. After realizing that this was not beneficial to the environment, engines had to become more and more environmentally friendly, the air filter became a filter.
The crankcase ventilation is not only a drain but also a breathing channel. By filtering the incoming air, the motor is protected from contamination.
The hose from the crankcase vent to the air filter dries out over time, causing fine cracks that lead to leaks. Remove the hose and press it flat between your fingers. If you see cracks, it's time to replace the hose.
The preformed hoses are only used for crankcase ventilation, the hose supplied by the meter also serves as a ventilation hose for the fuel tank and for cars equipped with an active carbon filter (which filters out any fuel vapours released).
