Product description
From model year 1968, Volkswagens in America and Canada were equipped as standard with seat belts on the rear seat. In Mexico, this was only introduced at the end of the 1980s. European models were not fitted with them as standard from the factory, but Volkswagen had already provided the necessary mounting points from August 1961. On the Volkswagen Bus, this was done from August 1963.
On the Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Type 3, the mounting points are located in the centre under the rear seat and on both sides at the bottom behind the side window. On the Volkswagen Bus, the mounting points are located in the floor behind the seats and on the sides. On the Trekker, the mounting points are located under the rear seat and on the left and right sides.
Also take care of the safety of your rear passengers and fit at least lap belts. However, if the available mounting points allow it, we recommend fitting three-point seat belts where possible. These can be found under the Other models tab.
The lap belts listed here are supplied complete with mounting hardware.
