Product description
The Porsche 356 was fitted as standard with a rocker shaft similar to these high-lift rocker shafts. This proves that a part thought to be new has simply been copied from an existing part that works well.
These rocker arms have a different ratio from the original 1.1 to 1, which is 1.25 to 1 or 1.40 to 1. Unlike the original rocker arms, they are fitted as standard with bowl-shaped adjusting bolts, which always rest perfectly on the pushrods.
The rocker arms are made of forged chrome-molybdenum and supported by bronze bushes. This is a considerable improvement over the needle bearings used in the past, as friction is now reduced to a minimum.
In addition, the rocker arm shaft is fitted with oil channels to ensure that all moving parts are permanently lubricated. Use the rocker arm adjustment plates (not supplied, see "Options" tab) for rough adjustment, then set the rocker arms with the adjustment bolts. This is necessary to avoid closing the oil channel in the adjusting bolts.
To adjust the lateral (axial) clearance of the rocker arm on the shaft, and to ensure that the rocker arms rise above the valve stems in the correct position, a number of adjusting rings are supplied. It often happens that the number or thickness is insufficient for perfect adjustment. We recommend that you order a set of each type (see "Spare parts" tab), so that you always have enough adjustment rings.
Valve clearance is set on the tappet side, while clearance is measured between the valve and the rocker arm, as on the original. The included rocker arm mounting studs are also made of chrome molybdenum and are wider for a stronger connection. These rocker arm kits can withstand high valve spring pressure, high engine speeds and are the strongest on the market.
