Most Beetles and all Karmann Ghia have a panel that protects the wiring, but this was not standard for every year of manufacture.
If your cardboard trunk protection does not extend under the windshield, so your wiring is exposed, then mount this panel as it was the case with the factory models.
If you don't want to mount a cardboard trunk protection anymore but you want your wiring to be well hidden? So then this panel is a also good choice. Remember in this case that the specified years of construction do not apply to your car. For a Beetle 1200, 1300 and 1500 with a front lid with ventilation slots, you need panel #00571, if you do not have ventilation slots you need panel #00570.
The specified years of manufacture indicate when Volkswagen equipped these cars with an electrical system cover in combination with a trunk cardboard.
The panels are made of black plastic, which guarantees a longer service life than the original cardboard panel.
