Product description
In older Volkswagens, the lever to open the door from the inside had a dual function: pull it towards you to open it and push it back to lock it from the inside. This method was later revised and the door was locked by pressing a button in the rear corner of the door or by a locking button located above the opener. The locking rods referred to here are similar to the model as introduced in 1967, i.e. they have a profiled protective rubber on top. Subsequently, Volkswagen reduced its expenses in this area and many models were fitted without this rubber cap, which immediately seemed much cheaper.
However, these standard door knobs are supplied without the protective sleeves that should normally be in the door, so if they also need to be replaced, then order them additionally immediately (see Options tab).
