They look like ordinary clamps that you can buy on every corner, but nothing could be further from the truth, they have a different clamping range. When replacing the original 32mm spring clamp (#71905), Volkswagen advises mechanics to use this clamp instead of the factory fitted 32mm spring clamp.
This spring clamp is in some cases very difficult to assemble when replacing a hose. To facilitate assembly, we recommend using a worm screw clamp. In addition to the special clamping range of 23-35 mm, this clamp is made of stainless steel.
