Volkswagen has always been very economical with the parts it uses, so you often find the same parts in different places in different VW models.
This handle is mounted at the back of the mid seat. Passengers in the back seat can use it to hold on. This handle is also used by Westfalia to lower the roof. On the Volkswagen Thing, the same handle was used on the dashboard, again to provide support for the fellow passenger during boarding or as a handle during a somewhat rougher ride. It was also used on the VW Bay Window Bus in ambulance version as a handle on the stretcher and on the VW Vanagon against the roof frame also in ambulance version. Finally, this handle was used by Westfalia to pull the lift roof down.
Supplied with protective covers to hide the mounting screws, these screws are not supplied with the grab handle.
