The engine is mounted to the gearbox using threaded rods on the bottom and bolts on the top, where the upper right bolt also secures the starter motor.
Do not use universal threaded studs on the underside, but only threaded studs of the correct hardness and length. Studs of a lower strength class cannot support the weight of the motor and will bend spontaneously when the motor is mounted.
The specifications for the lower threaded ends indicate the length, they can also be used for motors that are not listed and for which the length is close. The engines and build years listed are according to Volkswagen specifications. If you wish to deviate from these specifications, you do so at your own risk.
