Kamaxeln är en viktig del av motorn och är därför mycket väl studerad under motorjustering. Kamaxeln avgör i vilket område det maximala vridmomentet uppnås och upp till vilket varvtalsområde effekten kan ökas. Tack vare det breda utbudet finns det en kamaxel anpassad för varje typ av motorjustering.
Alla kamaxlar levereras utan kamaxelväxel, som alltid måste beställas separat (kamaxlar för typ 4-motorer levereras med monteringsdetaljer). För varje kamaxel anges specifikationer, fabrikat och typbeteckning som används av tillverkaren.
Vid montering av en ny kamaxel är det mycket viktigt att installera nya lyftare, dvs. de som rekommenderas av tillverkaren. Om det inte går att bevisa att de lyftare som rekommenderas av tillverkaren har använts, finns det ingen form av garanti, beställ dem alltid tillsammans med en ny kamaxel (se fliken Alternativ).
Notera: Kamaxlar för typ 1, typ 3 och CT/CZ motorer måste använda en typ 1 oljepump fram till och med 7/1971, igenkännbar genom installationsdjupet på 46-47 mm. Kontrollera och komplettera vid behov med valfri pump (se fliken Alternativ).
