Volkswagen has always had a reputation for reliability, which has been confirmed over the years. Where many cars of other brands have long since disappeared for scrap, Volkswagen have survived well.
Unfortunately, many imitation sheets are much less solid (read thinner) than what Volkswagen used at the time. For years, price was the most important factor and most sheet metal producers responded, so that the strong VW quality was no longer available.
Fortunately, those days are now over and there are better alternatives such as the quality A floorpans mentioned here, they have a thickness of 1.2 mm and an exact pressing that can easily be compared to the original.
But if you want cheaper and have no problem that the sheet metal is much thinner (0.6 mm) and the pressing leaves much to be desired, you can also opt for B quality floorpans, which are available for a limited number of years of construction (see the options tab).
