If your fuel filter is extremely dirty, it can affect the supply in such a way that the engine does not get enough fuel. You can fit a new filter again and again, but wouldn't it be wiser to renew the tank?
Often, rust particles are the cause of the blockage. Cleaning the tank sometimes helps, but not for long, as the metal is corroded and will clog up again in no time.
If you own a Buggy, then it is advisable to use a petrol tank from a Beetle from 1961 to 1967. This is the only tank with the tank entrance at the top and with the possibility of installing a tank float. This tank is also a great solution if you have welded the petrol flap shut to achieve the real "Cal-look" style.
Make sure that the tank is undercoated at the bottom to prevent rust. The tank is quickly forgotten when the car gets an anti-rust treatment.
The tanks are delivered bare, you will have to buy extra connections.
Note: The tank mentioned here uses petrol cap 485, take this extra with you (see tab options). The cap that was mounted originally has a different connection or diameter.
