The load floor of Volkswagen's utility vehicles has gone through some tough times over the years, especially when it has never been protected. The flat portion was generally protected with wood for instance, but the portion that extends up to the rear wheel wells was often unprotected, resulting in paint damage and dents. It is often possible to repair the paint (if the sheet metal has not rusted), but the dents are difficult to remove without losing the profile of the sheet metal.
This repair plate replaces the bent part between the wheel arches, it has the exact profile and the same sheet metal thickness as the original. For those who want to restore high quality, this is the perfect piece of sheet metal.
As this is a repair part that replaces only the angle piece, the angle piece is welded with an additional edge at the top of the engine compartment. The underside is welded to the floor plate with the edge folded like the original.
