The 1600 cc type 3 engine is equipped with the Solex 32-PDSIT carburetor as standard. The type 4 engine used a similar carburetor under the name 34-PDSIT, which was subsequently modified and the type designation was changed to 32-34 PDSIT.
Brosal produces these carburetors for Solex and has manufactured them to equip both the type 3 end type 4 engines, Brosal replaced them with the H 32/34 PDSI. These carburetors are not interchangeable between left and right, therefore there is a left and right variant recognizable by the number following the type designation (2 for left and 3 for right).
Note for the replacement of the original Solex on type 4 engines
- The cross-bar linkage that is mounted on this carburetor must be replaced by the one from your old carburetors.
- The vacuum tube of the distributor is maintained, all other vacuum tubes are removed. Close them by tightening a bolt in the tube with a hose clamp on top.
- All electromagnetic shut-off valves are removed, they are no longer necessary for these carburetors.
