These 10.9 bolts have been used on various Volkswagen models for a number of applications. All applications are discussed below with additional information for use.
Beetle, Karmann Ghia and VW Thing
This bolt is used to mount the front axle on the chassis head. For Volkswagens dating from before 7.1965, you don't need the spring washers supplied, as locking plates that secure two bolts simultaneously are used up to this period. For subsequent years, the locking plates have been replaced by spring washers, which are included in delivery. If you no longer have the locking plates, you must use the spring washers supplied to replace the locking plates. You'll need 2 pairs of bolts for complete assembly.
Bay Window Bus
The bolts are used for two applications: to secure the rear suspension arms to the chassis, and to mount the rear shock absorbers on the underside. For these two applications, you cannot use the spring washers supplied. Wave washers are used for the suspension arms, and flat and wave washers are used for the shock absorbers. For complete assembly of the left and right sides, you'll need a pair of bolts for each application.
VW Vanagon
This is used to mount the steering ball joint bracket on the suspension arm. You can't use the spring washers supplied, you need corrugated spring washers (listed in the options tab). For left and right mounting, you'll need a total of 3 pairs of bolts.
