In most restorations, the headliner needs to be changed, in many cases, replacement is the only way to make the interior look like new. There are few old cars that still have a headliner with an intact color, and if so, take good care of it.
Before placing a new headliner, be careful and well prepared and try not to put it in a few hours but take your time. If you do not install it yourself, entrust the work to a professional, you can then be sure that your headliner is properly assembled without damage or creases.
The headliner mentioned here is of the highest possible quality and equal to the original. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, we have one too, but it is only available for the Beetle sedan. B-quality headliner are universally usable for many years of construction and are designed to be as easy to install as possible, the color and unfortunately the type of fabric is different from the original.
If you wanted a perfect headliner, choose the perfect fit headliner mentioned here, there is more craftsmanship at stake but the final result is also as it should be.
For the convertible Beetle and all other VW models, we do not have a B-quality, only the headliner that meet professional requirements.
All headliner are supplied without bows, damping felt or insulation package, nor the spray glue required for assembly, please add these references if necessary (see options tab).
Except for the convertible versions, the number of bows required for each headliner is indicated, if they are no longer present or folded due to incorrect disassembly, order them in addition (see the options tab).
Note : The headliner of the Beetle sedan is available in a Deluxe version, which means that in addition to the roof section, the sides are also covered in the B-pillar, the frames around the rear side windows and the part surrounding the rear window. If you have a Beetle with only the roof area covered, it is called a standard Beetle. If you want to mount a Deluxe headliner in a standard Beetle, keep in mind that the roof is not designed for this purpose, you will have to mount additional straps, so there are many more skills involved.
