The Volkswagen Beetle's trunk lid or hood is difficult to repair if it's too dented or extremely rusty, so a new hood is the best solution.
If you wish to fit a boot lid of the old type (long bonnet up to july 1967 ) to a younger Volkswagen Beetle, this is only possible for the 1200, 1300 and 1500 models, provided that the front panel is also replaced by an old model with the corresponding lock and boot lid lever.
The boot lid up to july 1967 and the boot lid of the Volkswagen Beetle 1303 are identical to the original with holes for moldings, while the boot lid of the Volkswagen Beetle 1200, 1300 and 1500 from augustus 1967 onwards have no moldings. If you want to mount a trim, drill the holes of the trims before the hood is painted.
Caution : These hoods are a reproduction of the original, they may differ in their adjustment. First adjust and then paint, painted hoods cannot be returned.
Trunk valves are supplied in a warehouse paint, which may contain scratches and small dents.
