When mounting a type 4 engine in a car where a standard type 1 engine is mounted, you will need to make several changes. One of these changes you will have to make is to change the flywheel, you need a 200 mm clutch plate and these were only used on the first VW 411 models in 1969. It is almost impossible to find them, and if you have found one, you still have to face the problem that these flywheels are weaker than those of a type 1.
The conversion flywheel mentioned here is a reproduction of the VW 411 flywheel and is made from forged molten chrome, which is much stronger than the original. The perfect combination to attach a type 4 engine to a type 1 gearbox
