Viele Volkswagen Typ 1 und Typ 3 Motoren haben keine Ölablassschraube, so dass das Öl abgelassen werden muss, indem die Ölwanne komplett abgeschraubt wird, ohne Ablassschraube ist es fast unmöglich, kein Öl zu verschütten. Diese Ölwannenabdeckungen sind mit einer Ablassöffnung ausgestattet, so dass das Öl sauber abgelassen werden kann.
